Meet Elisabeth Hobbes

Hi, thanks for dropping by. Pull up a chair and grab a drink (tea for me please). I should start with a warning that although I’m not half bad at writing books, I’m pretty awkward, autistic, menopausal and easily distracted so if you’re hoping to find insights into how my mind works then good luck. I’m nearly 50 and haven’t figured it out yet. i’m also bad at updating things so it’ll probably still say that in six years time when I’m well past it.

The official bio is below the picture (taken by my son in a bar while I had actually put some makeup on) but the unofficial version is that I was bored while my husband was away so started trying to write a Mills & Boon and discovered I was quite good at it when I finished third in a worldwide contest to find new authors. That was the point I had to admit it to my family and friends and at least I had an excuse about why the house was a mess.

Scroll down past the pic and bio for pet pictures because lets face it, that’s what we all really like to see.

Mash Elisabeth

Elisabeth writes romantic historical fiction as Elisabeth Hobbes and historical folklore/fantasy romance as Elisabeth J. Hobbes.

She teaches Primary school and unlike her characters, the six year olds generally do what she tells them. She spends most of her spare time reading and is a pro at cooking one-handed while holding a book. She loves to travel and explore, looking for places to inspire her characters into life.

Elisabeth lives in Cheshire because the car broke down there in 1999 (though at heart she’s still a Yorkshirewoman). She has two almost grown kids, two cats, two dogs and a husband. The whole family are autistic. She dreams of having a tidy house one day.
